John Walter first came up with the Hair Part Theory when he experienced firsthand the effects of changing his hair part from right to left. After some photos were taken, he was looking in the mirror and wondered why pictures of him always looked funny - he looked fine! He realized that the mirror was reversing things and showing him with a left part!
After switching from right to left, he felt it looked off in the mirror, but figured it looked better in real life. He then began an amazing turnaround in his social life - becoming almost immediately popular and accepted by his peer group - something that never happened before.
After about 4 months, he felt he had a dual personality - was he the shy but sensitive, studious person he used to be, or the happy go lucky party animal he had become?
Another session in the mirror gave him a third alternative with his hair - the middle part. With that change, he neutralized the strong effect that his hair part was having on his social interactions, and his dual personalities began to merge well and easily.
When he looked around, he noticed others being affected the same way. The Hair Part Theory was born!
